Albert Moulton - El Dorado Co., CA

Albert MOULTON appears in the 1850 census of Placerville, El Dorado Co., CA as a gold miner. I believe that this is my 3rd-great grandfather. Albert was the son of Selah and Lydia (FENNEL) MOULTON.

My 2nd-great grandmother, Clara (Moulton) Metzner's father was stated to have gone to California during the gold rush. Whether or not he divorced his wife is not known. This is the only record of Albert that I've been able to find that matches.

Find A Grave Memorial : Ord Wehrly LeMaster (1906-1971)

I've created a Find A Grave memorial page for my paternal grandfather, Ord Wehrly LeMaster (1906-1971), who is buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jay Co., IN, along with my grandmother, Ruth.

Ord was born September 30, 1906 in Salamonia, Jay Co., IN, the son of Luman Cooper and Barbara Isabelle (Wehrly) LeMasters. He was the 11th born of 13 children.

He was named either after his uncle, Ord Otterbein LeMASTERS, or after Civil War general, E.O.C. Ord - or perhaps both of them were. His middle name, Wehrly, was a family name.

Since he died when I was just a child, I have no recollection of him.

Search for Nellie Lambertson - 1930 Marion Co., IN

I had posted a lookup request to the IN-CENSUS-LOOKUP mailing list for Nellie LAMBERTSON, widow of Samuel, hoping to find her in 1930. In the 1920 census, she was living in the 6th ward of Indianapolis, working as a seamstress. Nellie's birthplace was listed as Massachusetts.

I received a reply from a researcher stating no one with the surname LAMBERTSON was listed in the 1930 index of Indianapolis.

Either Nellie was deceased by then, or she was not living in Marion Co., IN.

Recommended by the National Genealogical Society

Conscious of the fact that sharing information or data with others, whether through speech, documents or electronic media, is essential to family history research and that it needs continuing support and encouragement, responsible family historians consistently—

  • respect the restrictions on sharing information that arise from the rights of another as an author, originator or compiler; as a living private person; or as a party to a mutual agreement.
  • observe meticulously the legal rights of copyright owners, copying or distributing any part of their works only with their permission, or to the limited extent specifically allowed under the law's "fair use" exceptions.
  • identify the sources for all ideas, information and data from others, and the form in which they were received, recognizing that the unattributed use of another's intellectual work is plagiarism.
  • respect the authorship rights of senders of letters, electronic mail and data files, forwarding or disseminating them further only with the sender's permission.
  • inform people who provide information about their families as to the ways it may be used, observing any conditions they impose and respecting any reservations they may express regarding the use of particular items.
  • require some evidence of consent before assuming that living people are agreeable to further sharing of information about themselves.
  • convey personal identifying information about living people—like age, home address, occupation or activities—only in ways that those concerned have expressly agreed to.
  • recognize that legal rights of privacy may limit the extent to which information from publicly available sources may be further used, disseminated or published.
  • communicate no information to others that is known to be false, or without making reasonable efforts to determine its truth, particularly information that may be derogatory.

Basil was married to Helen WRIGHT, daughter of James and Clara (HICKS) WRIGHT, and my 1st cousin three times removed. They also were my neighbors when I was growing up, and I remember them fondly. Their house was right across from ours, which in the 1930 census was where my great-grandfather, Virgil Wright was residing.

Basil was a 27 year old farmer who was renting his home. Helen was a housewife, aged 21 years old. Both had been born in Indiana, as were their parents. They had apparently been married for 5 years, as Helen was 16 when she was married. Living with them was their son, Basil Jr., aged 4 years and 8 months old.
