I stumbled upon your blog late last night and I could not stop reading! I am a decendant of Charles A. W. Chew of Indiana, whose son was Herbert Chew born 1902 in Jay County Indiana, and died in 1950 in Pontiac Michigan whose daughter is F. Elaine Chew Walter (my grandmother) born March 6, 1925 in Geneva, Indiana. Her son is James Richard Walter b. April 3, 1949 in Painesville(my dad). I am Lydia Ann Walter Minardo b. November 7, 1974.

Ah, the hope we have when we reach out to someone we don't know, dropping that envelope in the mailbox ... and waiting. I think it's hard with older folks. Sometimes they don't keep up with technology; sometimes their hands don't want to write; and sometimes they're just private. I hope your relative is thrilled to get a piece of mail with your letter and other information inside (as opposed to receiving junk mail). I hope he responds very soon.

I'm waiting for several SASEs just now. I always send colored envelopes so that when I open my mailbox, I immediately see whether I can start getting excited.

Back to the Indian heritage point, I have hit a brick wall in regards to Thomas or Tom Bosley. The only connection that is even a long shot is that there are some Bosleys that were associated with the Mohawk tribe which immigrated from Canada...???

I did however find both a George and Emma Carter on Indian Rolls for Choctaw (Cherokee) - trying to figure out dates - Choctaw's were associated with Alabama where Emma was born - so that fits... I will keep you posted. Let me know if you figure anything out. Email: cgboyethampton@cougars.ccis.edu

Okay so today I was informed by a family member that the Indian bloodline originated on my grandmother's (Violet Leona Bosley) father's (Tom Bosley) side. As of yet, I have not been able to even research this possibility as information regarding Thomas or Tom Bosley has yet to be gathered or known. My grandmother's birth certificate indicates that he was 30 at the time of her birth (1935) in Leachville, Arkansas which would mean he was born in either 1905 or 1906. Do you have any information on Tom Bosley?
