Beryl Miller household, 1940, Jay County, Indiana

Located the 1940 census record of the Beryl Miller household in Jay County, Indiana.  Beryl's wife, Inez, was my paternal 5th cousin once removed.  Our common ancestor was Steffan Petry.  Inez was the daughter of William Stevenson Ashcraft and Blanche Bertha Lewis.

1940 U.S. census, Jay County, Indiana, population schedule, Bearcreek Township, enumeration district (ED) 38-2, SD 5, sheet 8A, household 153, ; digital images, Ancestry.com (www.ancestry.com : accessed 26 December 2016); National Archives, Washington, D.C..
At the time of the enumeration, Beryl and his wife were living in Bearcreek Township.  Beryl owned his home and the value was listed at $1200. Beryl was 44 years old and born in Indiana.  His wife, Inez, was 41 years old and also born in Indiana.  In 1935, they were living in the same place.

The record shows that Beryl had completed 1 year of college and that Inez had completed 2 years of college.  Beryl's occupation was listed as a farmer, and no occupation was listed for Inez.

Also listed in the household were son Jimmie, age 13, born in Indiana and had competed the 7th grade, and Nancy, age 8, born in Indiana and had completed the 2nd grade.

According to my database, Beryl & Inez had two additional children not with them in 1940 - Marilyn and Betty.

If you have any additional information or are connected to this family, I'd love to hear from you.
