The Bryan (OH) Times, January 15, 1963, p. 3 |
In 1902, L.L. Rockwell of Fort Recovery, Ohio, put his initials on a silver dollar and spent it. It came back to him in January 1937 after being in circulation 35 years.L.L. operated a garage in Fort Recovery, Ohio for many years, and I assume that is where his silver dollar came back to him.
I was doing a search on Google to see if I could find mention of the Rockwell garage when I located this article. Why it was being reprinted as a UPI release in 1963 is a mystery.
