Widow Emeline Moulton - Licking Co., OH & Livingston Co., MO

The widow Emeline MOULTON appears in the 1860 census of Licking Co., OH and the 1870 census of Livingston Co., MO. Emeline was my paternal 3rd-great grandmother, the daughter of Joel and Sally (FOX) PHILBRICK and widow of Albert MOULTON.

In the 1860 census, Emeline is living with her mother-in-law, the widow Lydia (FENNEL) MOULTON in St. Albans Twp., Licking Co., OH. She is listed as being aged 38 and born in Ohio. Her daughters, Clara, aged 16, and Lydia, aged 11, both born in Ohio are also living in the household.

In the 1870 census, Emeline is living with daughter Lydia in the household of Charles HAGAMAN. In this census she is listed as aged 48, born in Ohio.

Emeline was born May 29, 1817 in Johnstown, Licking Co., OH., and died January 16, 1882. One source states that she may have remarried to a Seth W. SHOEMAKER, but I have not confirmed this.
