At the time of the enumeration, the family was living in Fostoria. The census states that George was renting his home for $30 per month. George was 48 years old and born in Wisconsin. His wife, Eva, was 44 years old and born in Indiana. In 1935 their residence was in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio.
The record shows that George had completed 5 years of college and that his occupation was listed as a Clergyman. His wife, Eva, had completed 1 year of college, but had no occupation listed.
Also living in the household were son George O., age 20, born in Iowa, who had completed 1 year of college; Helen, age 14, born in Illinois, who had completed the 8th grade; and Elliott M., age 12, born in Indiana, who had completed the 5th grade.

Arthur D. Weaver household, 1940, Lake County, Indiana
Located the 1940 census record of the Arthur D. Weaver household in Lake County, Indiana. Arthur's wife, Olive, was my maternal 2nd cousin 5 times removed. Our common ancestors were Alexander Crockett and Elizabeth Watkins. Olive's parents were William Perry Crockett and Sarah E. McCauley. Arthur's parents were Oran Weaver and Mahala Frame.
At the time of the enumeration, Arthur and his wife were living in Ward 3 of the city of Hobart. The census states that Arthur owned his home and that the value was $5000 and it was not a farm. Arthur was 76 years old and was born in New York. His wife, Olive, was 67 years old and was born in Illinois. In 1935, their residence was the same place.
According to my database, they were the parents of 7 children : Frederick, Lola, Jesse, Bessie, Edna, William and Coletta. None of them were living in the household in the 1940 census.
The record shows that Arthur and Olive had both completed the 8th grade in education. Neither of them had an occupation listed in the census.

Irvin was 54 years old and born in Indiana. His wife, Florence E., was 48 years old and also born in Indiana. In 1935, their residence was the same place.

Located the 1940 census record of the Herman Asher household in St. Louis City, Missouri. Herman's wife, Jessie, was my maternal 3rd cousin 4 times removed. Our common ancestors were Alexander Crockett and Elizabeth Watkins. Jessie's parents were Joel Benjamin Byers and Ellen Elizabeth Carpenter.
At the time of the enumeration, Herman and his wife were living in Ward 8 of the city. The census states that Herman rents his home and that the rent was $8 per month. Herman was 55 years old and born in Missouri. His wife, Jessie, was 53 years old and also born in Missouri. In 1935, their residence was the same place.
The record didn't show that Herman had completed any level of education, but showed that Jessie had completed the 6th grade. Herman's occupation was listed as mechanic repairman at a garage and Jessie didn't have any occupation listed.
Also living in the household was their daughter, Helen A., age 18, born in Missouri who had completed 3 years of high school.

The census states that Elmer was renting the home and the rent was $1000 per month - believe this was an error and should mean he owned the home and the value was estimated at $1000. My maternal 5th-great granduncle, Benjamin H. CROCKETT, married on this date in 1830 in Owen County, Indiana to Elizabeth THOMAS. Benjamin was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth (WATKINS) CROCKETT, and the younger brother of my David CROCKETT. I do not have Elizabeth's parentage. Benjamin was born in 1810. Elizabeth was born circa 1812. They had 8 children. Elizabeth died after the 1860 census. Benjamin died after 1880. Nothing further is known at this time.

David was born circa 1794 in Virginia. They had 8 children. David died August 1854 in Owen County, Indiana. Mary Ann died August 7, 1872 in Owen County, Indiana.
My paternal 3rd-great grandaunt, Margaret JACOBS, married on this date in 1863 in Wayne County, Ohio to Benjamin DREIBLEBEIS. Margaret was the daughter of David and Barbara (BYERS) JACOBS, and the younger sister of my Susan JACOBS. Margaret was born February 11, 1839 in Congress Township, Wayne County, Ohio. Elizabeth was born 1775 in Pennsylvania. They had 11 children. Alexander died September 15, 1816 in Anderson County, Tennessee. Elizabeth died after 1855, probably in Newton County, Missouri.
My maternal 7th-great grandparents, Mordecai MENDENHALL and Charity BEESON, were married on this date in 1735 at the Leacock Monthly Meeting, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Mordecai was the son of John and Susannah (PIERSON) MENDENHALL. Charity was the daughter of Richard and Charity (GRUBB) BEESON. Mordecai was born circa 1713 in Pennsylvania, probably Lancaster County. Charity was born cira 1715 in Pennsylvania, probably Chester County. They members of the Society of Friends. They had 10 children. Mordecai died 1803, 11th month, 3rd day in Guilford County, North Carolina. Charity died 1809, 9th month, 20th day in Guilford County, North Carolina.

My maternal 5th-great granduncle, Joseph CROCKETT, was born on this date in 1816. Joseph was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth (WATKINS) CROCKETT, and the younger brother of my David CROCKETT. Joseph married Elizabeth JAMES. Elizabeth was born February 27, 1820. They had 8 children. Elizabeth died May 3, 1914. Joseph died June 27, 1863.

Maria married July 18, 1771 in Dover Township, York County, Pennsylvania to Johan Michael JACOBS. Johan was born circa 1742 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. They had 3 children.
