Surname Saturday : Saubel

The SAUBEL surname is in my paternal line.  The origins of the surname appear to be German.


Stories and history:


Ahnentafel # 73: Christina Saubel (c1775-aft1870).  Christina was born circa 1775 in Pennsylvania.  She married Heinrich Wehrly (c1776-1846), probably in York County, Pennsylvania.  Heinrich was born circa 1776 in York County, Pennsyvlania.  They had at least 6 children.  Heinrich died January 15, 1846 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.  Christina died after the 1870 census, when she was living in Jefferson Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.


Ahnentafel # 146 : John Peter Saubel (1758-1831).  John was born February 21, 1758 in the Saar Basin, Germany.  He immigrated on October 13, 1769 on the Minerva from Rotterdam. He married Barbara ________ before 1775.  They had at least 8 children.  John Peter died August 15, 1831 in York County, Pennsylvania.


Ahnentafel # 292: Leonard Saubel (c1725-aft1794).  Leonard was born circa 1725.  His will was written in 1794 in Baltimore County, Maryland.
