LeMaster Aunts & Uncles

My paternal LeMaster aunts & uncles (dad's brothers and sisters) gathered together on New Year's Day and my mom shared the following photographs with me.  All taken at Ruth & Doug's in Sheridan, Indiana.

Surname Saturday : Davis

The DAVIS surname is in my maternal line.  No connection has yet been found to my other DAVIS lines.  This line was of the Quaker faith.  The origins of the surname are unknown at this time.

Ahnentafel # 117 : Mary Davis (1825-1909).  Mary was born September 9, 1825 in Randolph County, North Carolina.  Mary married April 19, 1848 in Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana to John T. Beals (1827-1917).  John was born June 25, 1827 in Clinton County, Ohio.  He served in Company A, 101st Indiana Infantry during the Civil War.  They raised 6 children in Hamilton County, Indiana.  John died September 18, 1917 in Sheridan, Hamilton County, Indiana.  Mary died July 18, 1909 in Cicero, Hamilton County, Indiana.  Both are buried in the Summit Lawn Cemetery, Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana.

Ahnentafel # 234 : John W. Davis (1794-1877).  John was born October 31, 1794 in Chatham County, North Carolina.  John married October 12, 1814 in Chatham County, North Carolina to Mary Barker (1793-1890).  Mary was born November 24, 1793 in Randolph County, North Carolina.  They raised 11 children.  Mary died January 30, 1890 in Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana. John died August 2, 1877 in Hamilton County, Indiana.  Both are buried in the Old Friends Cemetery, Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana.

Ahnentafel # 468 : Charles Davis (1771-1850).  Charles was born February 4, 1771 in Chatham County, North Carolina.  Charles married October 17, 1793 in Chatham County, North Carolina to Hannah Piggott (1774-1812).  Hannah was born July 9, 1774 in Orange County, North Carolina.  They raised 12 children.  Hannah died October 25, 1812 in Randolph County, North Carolina.  Charles died February 24, 1850 in Randolph County, North Carolina.

Ahnentafel # 936 : John Davis (1735-1806).  John was born September 28, 1735 in Chester County, Pennsylvania.  John married in 1759 in Orange County, North Carolina to Mary Chamness (1743-1819).  Mary was born September 11, 1743 in Frederick County, Maryland.  They raised 12 children.  Mary died June 22, 1819 in Chatham County, North Carolina.  John died November 21, 1806 in Chatham County, North Carolina.

Ahnentafel # 1872 : Charles Davies (c1706-    ).  Charles was born circa 1706 in England. Charles married December 9, 1733 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania to Hannah Matson.  They raised 8 children.  Charles died in North Carolina.

1618 - Joseph CLARKE born in Westhorpe, Suffolk County, England.  Joseph was the son of Thomas CLARKE and Rose KERRICH.  Joseph was my 9x-great grandfather.

1680 - Samuel PIERCE married Lydia BACON in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.  Samuel was the son of Thomas PIERCE and Elizabeth COLE.  Lydia was the daughter of Daniel BACON and Mary READE.  They were my 9x-great grandparents.

1730 - Richard BROWN married Rachel BEESON.  Richard was the son of William BROWN and Ann MERCER.

1733 - Charles DAVIES married Hannah MATSON in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.  Hannah was the daughter of John MATSON. They were my 8x-great grandparents.

1736 - Joseph WITTER married Sarah STEWARD.  Joseph was the son of John WITTER and Sarah TEFFT.

1757 - Jemima MENDENHALL born.  Jemima was the daughter of Joshua MENDENHALL and Lydia MENDENHALL.

1758 - Nathan MAXSON born.  Nathan was the son of Matthew MAXSON and Martha POTTER.

1775 - Anne TAYLOR born.  Anne was the daughter of Jonathan TAYLOR and Ann BERRY.

1796 - Jacob RINEHART born.  Jacob was the son of Peter RINEHART and Margaret MINGA.  Jacob was Eileen's 4x-great grandfather.

1800 - Hannah WRIGHT died in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Hannah was the daughter of William FESSENDEN and Martha BROWN.  Hannah was my 7x-great grandmother.

1806 - Cornelius SUTTON married Judith BABCOCK in Warren County, Iowa.  Cornelius was the son of Cornelius SUTTON and Elizabeth APPLEGATE.

1810 - Barbara MAXSON married John BARBER.  Barbara was the daughter of Samuel MAXSON and Mary DOWNING.

1819 - Ruth BOND married Joseph TEAGLE.  Ruth was the daughter of Samuel BOND and Elizabeth BEALS.

1835 - Josephus GRIMES married Catherine BLACKFORD in Champaign County, Ohio.  Josephus was the son of Benjamin GRIMES and Catherine HAYNES.

1838 - Nathaniel HAWORTH died in Greene County, Tennessee.   Nathaniel was the son of Absalom HAWORTH and Mary WEST.

1838 - Samuel LEWIS married Mary MATCHET in Hagerstown, Wayne County, Indiana.  Samuel was the son of Nathaniel LEWIS and Nancy Ann SNIDER.

1848 - Jesse HIGGINS died in Amwell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  Jesse was the son of Judiah H. HIGGINS and Mary HILL.

1853 - James STOUT died.  James was the son of Moses B. STOUT and Nancy PARKER.

1858 - Susannah LEWIS married George B. HOOVER in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana.  Susannah was the daughter of Nathaniel LEWIS and Nancy Ann SNIDER.

1878 - Mary Alice Cora WEHRLY born in Madison Township, Jay County, Indiana.  Mary was the daughter of John P. WEHRLY and 

1886 - John ALDERMAN married Sarah E. HAPNER in Bond County, Illinois.  John was the son of William Perry ALDERMAN and Elizabeth Ann LEE.

1901 - Absalom HAWORTH died in Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri. Absalom was the son of Nathaniel HAWORTH and Anna OLIPHANT.

1908 - Flossie Irene LEWIS born in Dora, Wabash County, Indiana.  Flossie was the daughter of Lawrence Solomon LEWIS and Ruth Alice SILLS.

1931 - Wilma Lucille LeMASTER died in Salamonia, Jay County, Indiana.  Wilma was the daughter of Chesley Franklin LeMASTER and Clara Louise BURKEY.
