1639 - Peter SCHÜRCH born.  Peter was the son of Ulrich SCHÜRCH and Barbara KUPFERSCHMID.  Peter was my 8x-great grandfather.

1689 - Mary BUTTON born.  Mary was the daughter of Peter BUTTON and Sarah CRANDALL.

1753 - Sarah MILLS married William HUNT in Orange County, North Carolina.  Sarah was the daughter of John MILLS and Sarah BEALS.

1797 - William PUTNAM born.  William was the son of Henry PUTNAM and Elizabeth KENDRICK.

1789 - Joel HUNT born in Guilford County, North Carolina.  Joel was the son of Isaiah HUNT and Elizabeth FLOYD.

1791 - John HIGGINS born in Flemington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  John was the son of Judiah H. HIGGINS and Mary HILL.

1805 - Joshua BOND married Ruth COFFIN.  Joshua was the daughter of Edward BOND and Elizabeth Ann MILLS.

1808 - S. Austin PIERCE born.  Austin was the son of Samuel PIERCE and Persis BARROWS.

1827 - John GRAHAM died in Tennessee.  John was the son of Richard GRAHAM and Asenath ________.

1836 - Catherine WEHRLY married John B. BUCHER.  Catherine was the daughter of Johannes WEHRLY and Barbara PETRY.

1836 - Sutton MAXSON married Vienna SUTTON.  Sutton was the son of Jesse MAXSON and Sarah SUTTON.

1851 - Mary EASTLACK died.  Mary was the daughter of Jesse CHEW and Mary RICHARDS.

1860 - Margaret L. KING born in Madison County, Indiana.  Margaret was the daughter of George Washington KING and Elizabeth HOWARD.

1862 - Francis W. POE died in Morgan County, Indiana.  Francis was the son of Isaac S. POE and Hannah MILLS.

1865 - Doris Elisabeth SCHUTTE married John M. DOELITSCH in Vanderburgh County, Indiana.  Doris was Corinne's 4x-great grandmother.

1867 - James J. HEATON married Sarah A. MERIDETH in Schuyler County, Missouri.  James was the son of James R. HEATON and Elizabeth JACOBS.

1868 - Annie Evalista BURCHFIEL born in Dandridge, Jefferson County, Tennessee.  Annie was the daughter of Joseph Rmenia BURCHFIEL and Louisa LEE.

1869 - Mary Elizabeth BIRDWELL born in Pine Hill, Rusk County, Texas.  Mary was the daughter of William Ezekiel BIRDWELL and Dora Alice FLANAGAN.

1877 - Elias P. SNYDER married Nancy E. BELL in Delaware County, Indiana.  Elias was the son of Edwin Clark Anthony SNYDER and Amanda GROENENDYKE.

1880 - Peter Miller YOUNG married Annie E. CUMMINS.  Peter was the son of Phillip YOUNG and Keziah CURTIS.

1906 - Francis C. BOYER born.  Francis was the son of Benjamin BOYER and Docia WHITE.

1927 - John Jacob HALEY died in Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  John was the son of George J. HALEY and Rachel H. GARY.

1930 - Betty Jean SWAFFORD died Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.  Betty was the daughter of Landon Marselles SWAFFORD and Goldie Amanda RUSSELL.

1945 - George Thomas WILDT died in Lincoln, Nebraska.  George was the son of Johannes Heinrich WILD and Emilie DEUTSCH.

1964 - Alva A. MAXON died.  Alva was the son of Joseph Lancaster MAXON and Josephine Agnes May GAMBLE.

1977 - Fleta BARTLET died in Mt. Ayre, Iowa.  Fleta was the daughter of James J. SWAFFORD and Elizabeth Ann Gant HANKINS.

1978 - Donald Acree SWAFFORD died in Richmond, Missouri.  Donald was the son of Arthur Clyde SWAFFORD and Katherine ACREE.

Family Milestones: May 2nd

My paternal 5th-great granduncle, Curtiss HURLBUT, was born on this date in 1764 in Woodbury, Connecticut.  Curtiss was the son of Israel & Jerusha (________) HURLBUT, and the younger brother of my Avis HURLBUT.  Nothing further is known at this time.

My paternal 5th-great grandaunt, Mary CHEW, was born on this date in 1780 in New Jersey.  Mary was the daughter of Rev. Jesse and Mary (RICHARDS) CHEW, and the younger sister of my Nathaniel CHEW.  Mary married Joseph EASTLACK about 1800.  Mary died October 6, 1851. Nothing further is known at this time.

My maternal 4th-great granduncle, Peter GROENENDYKE, was born on this date in 1800 in New Jersey.  Peter was the son of James and Johannah (ANTONIDES) GROENENDYKE, and the older brother of my Elias GROENENDYKE.  Peter married June 28, 1821 in Wayne County, Indiana to Hannah BEARD.  Hannah was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (DICKS) BEARD.  Hannah was born December 12, 1803 in Guilford County, North Carolina.  They had 4 children.  Hannah died November 19, 1886.  Peter died August 24, 1854 in Montgomery County, Indiana.

My maternal 3rd-great granduncle, Thomas KING, was born on this date in 1817 in Ohio.  Thomas was the son of William and Sarah (SULLIVAN) KING, and the older brother of my Daniel KING.  Thomas married before 1842 to Rebecca ________.   They had 6 children.  Rebecca was born February 16, 1822 in Virginia and died August 21, 1853 in Madison County, Indiana.  Thomas married secondly circa 1854 to Martha E. ________.  They had 3 children.  Martha was born circa 1833 in Indiana.  Thomas was a farmer in Monroe Township, Madison County, Indiana and served as a State Senator in Indiana.  Thomas died May 21, 1864 in Madison County, Indiana and is buried in the Howard Cemetery, Pipe Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana.

Family Milestones: March 29th

My maternal 3rd-great grandaunt, Clarrissa A. WRIGHT, was born on this date in 1856 in Brown County, Ohio.  Clarrissa was the daughter of John and Anna (WARDLOW) WRIGHT, and the younger sister of my Joseph W. WRIGHT.  Clarrissa was married on September 25, 1878 in Brown County, Ohio to William Henry BALLEIN.  William was born January 1847 in Ohio.  They had at least 2 children.  Clarrissa died September 27, 1884 in Brown County, Ohio.  William died after the 1900 census, when he was living in Brown County, Ohio.

My paternal 6th-great granduncle, William HAINES, was born on this date in 1739 in Burlington County, New Jersey.  William was the son of Jeremiah and Hannah (BONNELL) HAINES, and the older brother of my Robert HAINES.  William married Mary EASTLACK.  I do not have dates of birth or death for Mary.  They had at least 1 child.  Nothing further is known at this time.

Today in my database is my paternal 6th-great grandmother, Mary Richards.

Mary was born December 18, 1738 in New Jersey, the daughter of John and Mary (________) Richards. Mary married October 21, 1760 in Philadelphia, PA to Jesse Chew, son of Jeffrey and Amy (Driver) Chew. Jesse was born November 25, 1738 in Gloucester Co., NJ, and died January 31, 1812 in Gloucester Co., NJ. Mary died May 7, 1816 in New Jersey, probably Gloucester Co.

Today's featured relative in my database is my paternal 4th-great grandfather, Nathaniel Chew.

Nathaniel was born November 10, 1786 in Gloucester Co., NJ., the son of Nathaniel and Sarah (Springer) Chew. Nathaniel married Keziah Driver circa 1805, no known children. Nathaniel married secondly circa 1812 probably in Gloucester Co., NJ to Mary West, daughter of Job and Sarah (Jackson) West. Mary was born June 17, 1795 in New Jersey and died February 27, 1848 in New Jersey. Nathaniel married thirdly December 10, 1848 in Iowa to Nancy Mosier. Nathaniel died January 24, 1866 in Mahaska Co., IA.

Nathaniel was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal church.
