1677 - John FESSENDEN born in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.  John was the son of Nicholas FESSENDEN and Margaret CHENEY.

1691 - Mary BACON died in Newton, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.  Mary was my 10x-great grandmother.

1700 - John FIELD born in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.  John was the son of John FIELD and Mary BENNETT.

1704 - John CRANDALL born.  John was the son of Jeremiah CRANDALL and Priscilla WARNER.

1767 - Catherine STANLEY died in Guilford County, North Carolina.  Catherine was the daughter of Strangeman STANLEY and Jemima MILLS.

1773 - Hannah MAXSON born.  Hannah was the daughter of Thomas MAXSON and Hannah SISSON.

1774 - Frances Taylor MADISON born.  Frances was the daughter of James MADISON and Eleanor Rose CONWAY.

1804 - Anna Marie Louise KAHRE born in Brinkhoff, Westphalia.  Anna was the daughter of Christian Friedrich KAHRE and Anna Marie Catherine BRINKHOFF.

1817 - Janet WARDLAW died in Brown County, Ohio.  Janet was the daughter of Samuel DOWNEY and Martha McPHEETERS.

1849 - John Reese WRIGHT born in Brown County, Ohio.  John was the son of Samuel Pangburn WRIGHT and Rebecca Ruth HALL.

1850 - Peter RINEHART died in Preble County, Ohio.  Peter was the son of Ulrich RINEHART and Margaret ________. Peter was Eileen's 5x-great grandfather.

1851 - Juliett PENISTEN born.  Juliett was the daughter of George PENISTEN and Amanda Melvina CAWGILL.

1856 - Tom Burrell LEE born in Bledsoe County, Tennessee.  Tom was the daughter of William M. LEE and Elizabeth BROWN.

1890 - Betsy Ann STANDARD died in Fulton County, Illinois.  Betsy was the daughter of Solomon BEALS and Elizabeth JOHN.

1893 - Abraham Lincoln BRUNER married Arabella Bruner GALBREATH.  Abraham was the son of Andrew Jackson BRUNER and Selina HAWORTH.

1893 - Anna WRIGHT died in Brown County, Ohio.  Anna was the daughter of Samuel WARDLAW and Elizabeth NESBIT.  Anna was my 4x-great grandmother.

1930 - Nancy A. BRUMLEY died in Little Prairie Township, Pemiscot County, Missouri.  Nancy was the daughter of Spencer CROMEANS and Gincy ________.

1937 - Caroline Alvina SCHWEITZER died in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana.  Caroline was the daughter of Johann Jacob DEUTSCH and Doris Elisabeth SCHUTTE.

1995 - Glen Byron PIERCE died in Alexandria, Madison County, Indiana.  Glen was the son of Lyman PIERCE and Lavina SUNDERLAND.

1829 - Christian Friedrich Wilhelm BOLLING died. Christian was the son of Friedrich Wilhelm BOLLING and Anna Marie Louise KAHRE.


1849 - Amanda Cassandra MAXON married James C. PATTERSON in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Amanda was the daughter of Jesse MAXON and Jane NANGLE.


1861 - Zona MAXSON born.  Zona was the daughter of William MAXSON and Hannah KESLER.


1877 - Matthew HIXENBAUGH born in Washington County, Pennsylvania.  Matthew  was the son of Church HIXENBAUGH and Sarah A. MAXON.


1884 - Gincy Arminda BRUMLEY born in Hardin County, Tennessee.  Gincy was the daughter of Riley Young BRUMLEY and Nancy A. CUMMINGS.


1900 - Ida DAVIS married Carvie A. MORRIS in Monroe County, Indiana.  Ida was the daughter of James Austin DAVIS and Mary Ellen SWAFFORD.  Ida was my 2x-great grandmother.


1902 - Lowell Leslie PEFLEY born in Wabash County, Indiana.  Lowell was the son of Albert Duffey PEFLEY and Sarah May PEEPLES.


1902 - Edna R. WHISLER born.  Edna was the daughter of Omer A. WHISLER and Lola May LAMBERTSON.


1908 - George Gerald ORCUTT born.  George was the son of George Albert ORCUTT and Della P. JAMES.


1912 - Galen Delbert LEWIS born in Dora, Wabash County, Indiana.  Galen was the son of Lawrence Solomon LEWIS and Ruth Alice SILLS.


1959 - John Herman PIERCE died in Alexandria, Madison County, Indiana.  John was the son of William Francis PIERCE and Clara PENISTEN.


1959 - William Byrd SWAFFORD died in Bledsoe County, Tennessee.  William was the son of Aaron SWAFFORD and Nancy Alice PATTON.


1965 - Evert Raymond COX died in Amarillo, Texas.  Evert was the son of Henry Luther COX and Martha Angie LEE.


1970 - Hoy Hubert KING died.  Hoy was the son of David KING and Litha Ann Trumilis D'Amsel MAY.

John Spencer Cummings (1860-1944)

John Spencer CUMMINGS (1860-1944) was the son of Wyatt and Margaret (HENSON) CUMMINGS, and the older brother of Eileen's paternal grandfather, St. Patrick Merlin CUMMINGS (1863-1929).  The information I had for him was rather sketchy, and contact by a fellow researcher questioning the relationships of the Pace and Cummings families has given me reason to search for more information.

I found a link to John's tombstone at the FindAGrave website.  This also gives a transcription of his obituary from the Democrat-Argus of Caruthersville, Missouri of Friday, December 1, 1944.  Transcription states his birthdate was February 15, 1869 at Savannah, Tennessee.  This may be a typo, as other records place his birth as closer to 1862, such as the 1870 census of Colbert County, Alabama.  His death certificate is online through the Missouri Secretary of State website:

At first I wasn't sure who the informant, Robert TREECE was, but now thanks to the FindAGrave transcription of the obituary, I know that he was a son-in-law.

John married Dollie BRUMLEY on September 22, 1904 in Hardin County, Tennessee.  She was his second wife.  According to the obituary, they had four sons and three daughters.  I found record of their marriage at FamilySearch.

His obituary states that he married his first wife, Martha Adaline PACE, in April 1877.  I found a record on Ancestry.com that may be this marriage record.  This would be taking place in Prentiss County, Mississippi.

John had a total of 15 children by his two wives, according to his obituary.

I still have a lot of research to flesh out these families, but now I have leads for more of Eileen's distant cousins throughout Alabama and Tennessee.
