1689 - John PRICE born.  John was the son of Robert PRICE and Sarah WEBB.


1749 - Elizabeth PIERCE died in Mansfield, Windham County, Connecticut.  Elizabeth was the daughter of Ebeneze NYE and Sarah NEWCOMB.  Elizabeth was my 7x-great grandmother.


1774 - Peter KOUWENHOVEN died.  Peter was the son of Pieter Willemse VAN KOUWENHOVEN and Patience DAWS.


1797 - Mary KIMMER born.  Mary was the daughter of Nicholas KIMMER and Sarah FAYLER.


1803 - Robert Armstrong BALES born.  Robert was the son of Caleb BALES and Ann SMITH.


1803 - Clarissa A. WELCH born.  Clarissa was the daughter of Thomas WELCH and Lucinda PIERCE.


1808 - Sarah OLIPHANT married Felix EARNEST.  Sarah was the daughter of John OLIPHANT and Hannah AMOS.


1823 - Asenath HUNT married Douglas CLARK.  Asenath was the daughter of Nathan HUNT and Martha RUCKMAN.


1833 - Karl Ludwig RITT born in Denzlingen, Baden.  Karl was Corinne's 4x-great grandfather.


1841 - Elizabeth BUCHER died.  Elizabeth was the daughter of Nicholas BUCHER and Catherine PETRY.


1842  - Ulrich SHIRK died.  Ulrich was the son of Ulrich SCHERCH and Anna SWARR.


1862 - Keziah DAVIS died.  Keziah was the daughter of Joseph S. DAVIS and Hannah SUTTON.


1867 - Thomas McCOOL died in Boonville, Warrick County, Indiana.  Thomas was Corinne's 5x-great grandfather.


1876 - Samuel Wallace ANDERSON married Lydie Louisa HALL.  Samuel was the son of William Earl ANDERSON and Frances AUSTIN.


1876 - Reubin Brown LEE married Nancy A. CRAFT in Cumberland County, Tennessee.  Reubin was the son of William M. LEE and Elizabeth BROWN.


1902 - Mary E. MORRISTON born.  Mary was the daughter of Abijah D. MORRISTON and Forest R. JACKSON.


1905 - Carrie Verle HALEY born in Jay County, Indiana.  Carrie was the daughter of Eli Weldon HALEY and Cora Belle METZNER.


1967 - Sarah Catherine KELLY died in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana.  Sarah was the daughter of George Washington PENISTEN and Jemimah STIGLEMAN.

Sunday's Obituary: Elvin Cooper LeMaster (1912-2000)

Elvin C. LeMaster, 87, Columbus, Ohio, a native of Jay County, died Tuesday at Kobacker House in Columbus.

He was retired from Commercial Motor Freight of Indiana.

LeMaster was a member of the Maynard Avenue United Methodist Church, Ralplh Rickey Lodge No. 670 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, and Aladdin Temple Shrine.

Surviving are his wife, Cleo; four daughters, Mrs. Max (Phyllis) Stewart, New Albany, Nancy Cooper, Columbus, Mr. Bill (Linda) Nelson, Antioch, Calif., and Mrs. Calvin (Sharol) Kelly, Columbus; one sister, Mary O. Taylor, Edgewater, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Services are set for 11 a.m. (Ohio time) Friday at the Southwick-Good Funeral Chapel, Columbus, with Rev. Glenn Schwerdtfeger and Rev. Bruce Beavers officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday.

Family Milestones: December 18th

My maternal 7th-great grandparents, Bennett FIELD and Elizabeth SPOFFORD, were married on this date in 1734 in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.  Bennett was the son of John and Mary (BENNETT) FIELD.  Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas and Bethiah (HAZELTINE) SPOFFORD.  Bennett was born December 13, 1709 in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.  Elizabeth was born April 19, 1715 in Boxford, Essex County, Massachusetts.  They had at least 2 children.  Bennett died April 6, 1770 in Mansfield, Windham County, Connecticut.  Elizabeth died November 20, 1772 in Mansfield, Windham County, Connecticut.

My maternal 4th-great granduncle, William C. MILLS, married on this date in 1839 to Rebecca HADLEY.  William was the son of Henry and Hannah (WOODWARD) MILLS, and the older brother of my Hannah MILLS.  William was born 1816-5mo-8d and died July 21, 1899.  Nothing further is known at this date.

My paternal great-granduncle, Alva Monroe WEHRLY, was born on this date in 1878 in Jay County, Indiana.  Alva was the son of William P. and Olive Jane (SMITH) WEHRLY, and the younger brother of my Barbara Isabel WEHRLY.  Alva married October 1, 1901 to Emma C. YAEGER.  Emma was born April 1, 1882 in Salamonia, Jay County, Indiana.  They had 4 children.  Emma died December 8, 1964 in Portland, Jay County, Indiana.  Alva died March 8, 1952 in Portland, Jay County, Indiana.

My paternal 3rd-great granduncle, Isaac LEMASTERS, was born on this date in 1795 in Virginia.  Isaac was the son of Jacob and Hannah (________) LEMASTERS, and the older brother of my Luman Walker LEMASTERS.  Isaac married on November 21, 1821 in Shelby County, Ohio to Hannah Elizabeth COLEMAN.  Hannah was the daughter of Phillip and Ann (KELLY) COLEMAN.  Hannah was born April 17, 1807 in Warren County, Ohio.  Isaac died about January 11, 1841 in Allen County, Ohio.  Hannah died May 7, 1892 in Auglaize County, Ohio.

My paternal 3rd-great grandaunt, Mary JACOBS, was born on this date in 1819 in Warrington Township, York County, Pennsylvania.  Mary was the daughter of David and Barbara (BYERS) JACOBS, and the older sister of my Susan JACOBS.  Mary died August 27, 1820 in Warrington Township, York County, Pennsylvania.

My paternal 6th-great grandmother, Mary RICHARDS, was born on this date in 1738 in New Jersey.  Mary was the daughter of John and Mary (________) RICHARDS.  Mary married October 21, 1760 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Jesse CHEW, son of Jeffrey and Amy (DRIVER) CHEW.  Jesse was born November 25, 1738 in Gloucester County, New Jersey.  They had 7 children.  Jesse died January 31, 1812.  Mary died May 7, 1816 in New Jersey.

My paternal 3rd-great granduncle, Isaac LEMASTERS, married Hannah Elizabeth COLEMAN on this date in 1821 in Shelby County, Ohio. Isaac was the son of Jacob and Hanna (________) LEMASTERS, and the older brother of my Luman Walker LEMASTERS. Isaac was born December 18, 1795 in Virginia. Hannah was born April 17, 1807 in Warren County, Ohio, the daughter of Phillip and Ann (KELLY) COLEMAN. Isaac died about January 11, 1841 in Allen County, Ohio, and Hannah later remarried to John B. LOCKHART. Hannah died May 7, 1892 in Union Township, Auglaize County, Ohio.

My paternal great-grandaunt, Rachel Emma Pernina HALEY, was born on this date in 1869 in Medina County, Ohio. Rachel was the daughter of George Washington and Mary Jane (SHERRICK) HALEY, and the younger sister of my Eli Weldon HALEY. Rachel married William Benton HAMLIN on July 11, 1888 in Jay County, Indiana. Nothing further is known.
