My maternal 3rd-great granduncle, Curtis W. POE, was born on this date in 1874 in Hamilton County, Indiana. Curtis was the son of Isaac S. and Hannah (MILLS) POE, and the younger brother of my Elizabeth Caroline POE. Curtis married February 25, 1894 in Norton, Norton County, Kansas to Lillian S. PHEBUS, daughter of ________ and Hannah (McCHEETERS) PHEBUS. Lillian was born August 1874 in Iowa. They had 3 children. Lillian died July 10, 1959 in Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado. Curtis died February 14, 1952 in Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado. Both are buried in the Columbia Cemetery, Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado.
My maternal 5th-great granduncle, Samuel PIERCE, was born on this date in 1777. Samuel was the son of Seth and Bethiah (FIELD) PIERCE, and the younger brother of my Gordon PIERCE. Samuel died August 26, 1778.

Family Milestones: February 25th
My maternal 3rd-great granduncle, Curtis W. POE, was married on this date in 1894 in Norton, Norton County, Kansas to Lillian S. PHEBUS. Curtis was born May 23, 1874 in Hamilton County, Indiana, the son of Isaac S. and Hannah (MILLS) POE. Lillian was born August 1874 in Iowa. They had 3 children. Curtis was a harness maker in Norton County, Kansas and Boulder County, Colorado. Lillian died July 10, 1959 in Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado. Curtis died February 14, 1952 in Boulder, Boulder County Colorado. Both are buried in the Columbia Cemetery, Boulder, Colorado.
My paternal grandaunt, Mary Olive LeMASTER, was married on this date in 1935 to Virgil Thornton TAYLOR. Mary was born October 13, 1909 in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Luman Cooper and Barbara Isabel (WEHRLY) LeMASTERS, and the younger sister of my Ord Wehrly LeMASTER. Virgil was born August 13, 1898 in Montgomery, Alabama, the son of Finis and Helen (HARRELL) TAYLOR. They had at least 1 child. Mary died July 20, 2002.
My maternal 4th-great granduncle, William Perry ALDERMAN, was married on this date in 1849 in Greenville, Bond County, Illinois to Elizabeth Ann LEE. William was born circa 1815 in Illinois, the son of James and Martha (CANTELL) ALDERMAN, and the younger brother of my Richard ALDERMAN. Elizabeth was born in 1834 in Jasper County, Illinois. They had 6 children. Elizabeth died March 4, 1879 in Greenville, Bond County, Illinois. William died January 31, 1901 in Greenville, Bond County, Illinois.

The Isaac S. POE household appears in the 1870 census of Washington Twp., Hamilton Co., IN. Isaac was my maternal fourth great-grandfather, the son of John W. and Elizabeth (RAINS) POE.
Isaac was a 37 year-old farmer, born in North Carolina, with real estate valued at $5900 and a personal estate valued at $782. His wife, Hannah, was also aged 37, and was born in Indiana. Children in the household included : Elizabeth, aged 13; Henry, aged 12; Pleasant, aged 9; Origin, aged 7; and Charles, aged 4 - all of whom were born in Indiana.
In the 1900 census of Norton, Norton Co., KS Isaac was listed as aged 66, born October 1833 in North Carolina, with his father born in Virginia and his mother born in Tennessee. He owned his home free of mortgage and could read and write. Wife Hannah was born January 1833 in Indiana, with both parents born in Tennessee. She was listed as the mother of 6 children, all of whom were still living.
