Surname Saturday : Heck

The HECK surname is in my maternal line.  The origins of the surname are unknown, but appear to be German.

Stories and history : 

Anhentafel  # 103 : Mary Heck  (c1803-1890).  Mary was born circa 1803 in Kentucky.  She married William Shaw (1800-1849) on August 29, 1822 in Brown County, Ohio.  William was born January 28, 1800 in Pennsylvania.  They raised 9 children in Ohio, Fayette and Madison Counties, Indiana.  William died September 25, 1849 in Madison County, Indiana.  Mary died August 12, 1890 in Madison County, Indiana.  Both are buried in the Prewett Cemetery, Madison County, Indiana.

Ahnentafel # 206 : Godfrey Heck (c1778-1858).  Godfrey was born circa 1778 in Maryland.  He married Elizabeth Kimmer (c1785-1860) on April 28, 1802 in Bracken County, Kentucky.  Elizabeth was born circa 1785 in Pennsylvania.  They raised 13 children in Kentucky and Fayette County, Indiana.  Elizabeth died in 1860 in Fayette County, Indiana.  Godrey died November 30, 1858 in Fayette County, Indiana.

Ahnentafel # 412 : Daniel Heck (c1751-1817).  Daniel was born circa 1751 in Bracken County, Kentucky.  He married Catherine ________ (1752-    ) in 1772.  They had at least 10 children in Bracken County, Kentucky.  Daniel died March 1817 in Bracken County, Kentucky.
