1653: Samuel SPOFFORD born in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts.  Samuel was the son of John SPOFFORD and Elizabeth SCOTT.  He was my 9x great-grandfather.


1667: William CHENEY died in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.  William was the son of William CHENEY.  He was 11x great-grandfather.


1693: Richard BROWN born.  Richard was the son of William BROWN and Ann MERCER.


1729: Hannah BEALS born in Monocacy, Prince George's County, Maryland.  Hannah was the daughter of William BEALS.


1766: Israel HURLBUT born in Woodbury, Connecticut.  Israel was the son of Israel HURLBUT and Jerusha ________.


1768: Peter TAYLOR married Margaret WALLACE.  Peter was the son of George TAYLOR and Rachel GIBSON.

1841: Solomon LEWIS married Margaret RINEHART in Henry County, Indiana.  Solomon was the son of Nathaniel LEWIS and Nancy Ann SNIDER.  Margaret was the daughter of Jacob RINEHART and Mary ADNEY.  They were Eileen's 3x great-grandparents.


1844: Catherine GROENENDYKE married Samuel WAMSLEY in Hamilton County, Ohio.  Catherine was the daughter of Nicholas GROENENDYKE and Lydia ________.


1856: William MILLER married Elizabeth SCHAFER in Posey County, Indiana.  William was the son of Jacob MILLER and Elizabeth SPECK.  They were Corinne's 3x great-grandparents.


1857: Hannah HIGGINS died in Amwell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  Hannah was the daughter of Judiah H. HIGGINS and Mary HILL.


1886: Vernon Guy JACKSON born in Jay County, Indiana.  Vernon was the son of Lawrence Delbert JACKSON and Minerva Prudence WEHRLY.


1896: Wiley GROENENDYKE born in Arkansas.  Wiley was the son of Frank GROENENDYKE and Lydia ROHLS.


1901: William Perry ALDERMAN died in Greenville, Bond County, Illinois.  William was the son of James ALDERMAN and Martha CANTELL.


1905: Ada HEATH married Dean STANLEY in Ray County, Missouri.  Ada was the daughter of U.S. Grant HEATH and Martha Ann SWAFFORD.


1909: Ruth Cleveland FULLER married John Anson MILLER in Palatka, Clay County, Arkansas.  Ruth was the daughter of Torrence Illiff FULLER and Nettie Belle STOUT.


1910: Benjamin BOYER died in Warrick County, Indiana.  Benjamin was the son of Christopher C. BOYER and Nancy Ann McCOOL.


1924: Evelyn Gertrude YOUNG born in Orestes, Madison County, Indiana.  Evelyn was the daughter of Samuel Roscoe YOUNG and Gladys JARRETT.


1942: Marietta POE died in Wabash County, Indiana.  Marietta was the daughter of Robert COOK and Sarah ________.  She was Eileen's 2x great-grandmother.


1945: Mary Elizabeth GARNER died.  Mary was the daughter of Alexander Young MAXON and Margaret ROSE.

HALEY - George W. Haley was born in Harden Co., O., May 16, 1840, died in Jay Co., Ind., Dec. 3, 1892, aged 52 y., 6 m. and 7 d.  The deceased was sick about one year, a portion of this time his sufferings were exceedingly painful, but he bore his afflictions with great patience.  He was absolutely resigned to the will of his Heavenly Father.  His last moments were full of cheer and hope, an indiscribable smile was seen upon his face a few moments before his departure, thus he passed away to his eternal rest.  He was married to his now broken-hearted companion, Mary Jane Sherrick, 30 years ago.  To this union were born 4 boys and 3 girls.  He also leaves behind him a large circle of friends, a mother, 5 sisters, 4 brothers.  Bro. H. was converted when 13 years of age.  Funeral services were conducted by the writer, assisted by Rev. E.F. Zechiel.  S. Hofferbert

George W. HALEY (1840-1892) was my paternal 2x great-grandfather.  He was the son of George J. HALEY and Rachel GARY.  He married Mary Jane SHERRICK on October 14, 1862 in Ashland County, Ohio.  The names of his children were: Andrew Frank, Eli Weldon, George David Ellsworth, Rachel Emma Pernina, Charles Wesley, Carrie Mae and Ora Amanda.  He is buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Noble Township, Jay County, Indiana.  Though the obituary states his death date was December 3rd, funeral home records state December 4th.  Will need to obtain death certificate from Health Department to clarify.

1909: Mamie Elnora ORCUTT married Leslie O. REED in Jay County, Indiana.  Mamie was the daughter of James ORCUTT and Samantha E. METZNER.


1916: William R. DAVIS died.  William was the son of Ehud DAVIS and Catherine DAVIS.


1923: Mardelle KING born.  Mardelle was the daughter of Hoy Hubert KING and Cleo Fern COX.


1930: Gordon Louis METZNER born in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.  Gordon was the son of Albert Louis METZNER and Linnea Henrietta CHRISTENSEN.
