William Haley Dies in Noble

Heart Trouble-Dropsy are Fatal to Former Resident of Portland

William Haley, 73, died this morning at his home near Bellefontaine, death being due to heart trouble and dropsy.  He had been in failing health since February and seriously for three weeks.

Mr. Haley was born September 12, 1860, in Noble township and resided on the farm where he was born northeast of Portland until locating in this city in 1918 and residing here until last February.  His parents were Sebastian and Lydia (Rader) Haley.

In 1884 he was married to Jennie Laicock, who died April 1, 1929, and remarried February 12, 1933 to Nora Hoadeschell, who survives.  Mrs. Hazel Thornburg of Portland is a daughter.  There are three grandchildren, Katherine, Ruth and William Thornburg, and one sister, Mrs. Eli Haffner of Portland.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence in charge of Rev. Russell Haley of Peru, assisted by Rev. J.O. Lewis of Portland.  Burial in Green Park cemetery.
