1712: Deborah WILLETS born in Little Egg Harbor, Burlington County, New Jersey.  Deborah was the daughter of Joseph WILLETS and Deborah SEAMAN.


1735: John CHEW died in Gloucester County, New Jersey. John was the son of Richard CHEW and Frances WOODWARD.


1753: John CRANDALL born.  John was the son of John CRANDALL and Esther LEWIS.


1757: Reuben TAYLOR born.  Reuben was the daughter of George TAYLOR and Rachel GIBSON.


1775: John OLIPHANT married Hannah AMOS.  John was the son of Ephraim OLIPHANT and Sarah Higgins STOUT.

1810: Beverly CHEW married Maria Theoda DUER in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Beverly was the son of John CHEW and Ann FOX.

1892: William Francis PIERCE married Clara PENISTEN in Madison County, Indiana.  William was the son of Edmund G. PIERCE and Catherine GROENENDYKE.  Clara was the daughter of John PENISTEN and Jane ALDERMAN.  They were my 2x great-grandparents.


1892: Clara Eliza HAGAMAN married Joe POSTLEWART.  Clara was the daughter of Charles Sherman HAGAMAN and Lydia MOULTON.


1895: Osha H. WOODS born.  Osha was the daughter of William Richard WOODS and Elizabeth Jane HILL.


1898: Lucena CUMMINGS married W.M. "Sell" PINKLEY in Dyer County, Tennessee.  Lucena was the daughter of Wyatt CUMMINGS and Margaret HENSON.


1900: Mary SWAFFORD married William NAIL.  Mary was the daughter of James Newton SWAFFORD and Nancy C. LITTLE.


1906: Macy Lydia GROENENDYKE born in Ohio.  Macy was the daughter of Frank GROENENDYKE and Lydia ROHLS.


1926: Phillip Wesley YOUNG died.  Phillip was the son of Adam YOUNG and Mary NOLAND.

Henry Meinholtz Services Will Be Held Friday


Funeral services for Henry C. Meinholtz who died at his home, 1624 N. Cascade Ave., Monday, will be held at the grave in the Evergreen Cemetery, at 11 a.m. Friday.  Tejon Lodge No. 104, A.F. & A.M. will officiate.  Friends may call at the Law Drawing room on Friday

Henry C. Meinholtz Dies At His Home


Henry C. Meinholtz, retired stockman and farmer, died yesterday at his home, 1624 N. Cascade Ave.


Mr. Meinholtz, who was born in 1875, had lived in Colorado Springs since 1921.  He lived for two years in Alamosa, Colo., and retained business interests in the San Luis Valley.  Before that he lived in Okmulgee, Okla.  He had been ill for a long time.


Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Edith Meinholtz, three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Klinger, Center, Colo., Mrs. Helen Shanks, Salida, Colo., and Mrs. Marjorie Welch, Quincy, Mass.


Services will be held at the grave in Evergreen cemetery at 11 o'clock Friday morning.  Tejon Lodge No. 104, AF & AM, will officiate.  Friends may call Thursday at the Law drawing room.

Mary Meinholtz Dies At Her Home

Popular College Graduate Ill Only Few Days; No Funeral Plans

Miss Mary Wilhelmine Meinholtz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meinholtz, 1624 North Cascade Avenue, and popular Colorado college graduate, died yesterday afternoon at her home, following brief illness.  Her condition was regarded as improving, when it suddenly took a turn for the worse and death followed quickly.

Mr. Meinholtz, who was out of the city, was promptly notified and his return was expected momentarily last night.

Miss Meinholtz, who was born in Henryetta, Okla., in February, 1911, was graduated from Colorado college last year.  During the time she attended college she was one of the most popular members of the student body.  She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and the Tiger club.  Before entereing Colorado college she studied at Northwestern university and Colorado State Teachers college.

Last year Miss Meinholtz was awarded first prize in the Colorado college beauty contest.

Following her graduation she entered the employ of the Alexander Film company of this city.

Surviving, besides her parents, are three sisters, Helen and Marjorie Meinholtz of this city and Miss Lucille Meinholtz, who is a student at Lindenwood college, St. Charles, Mo.

Funeral arrangements will be made at the Law mortuary.

Family Milestones: September 14th

My paternal granduncle, Charles L. HALEY, was born on this date in 1902 in Jay County, Indiana.  Charles was the son of Eli Weldon and Cora Belle (METZNER) HALEY, and the older brother of my Ruth Pauline HALEY.  Charles died February 27, 1903 in Jay County, Indiana and is buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jay County, Indiana.


My paternal 6th-great granduncle, Jeremiah HAINES, was born on this date in 175 1 in Burlington County, New Jersey.  Jeremiah was the son of Jeremiah and Hannah (BONNELL) HAINES, and the younger brother of my Robert HAINES.  Jeremiah married April 26, 1775 in Burlington County, New Jersey to Mary HANN. Mary's parentage and dates of birth and death are unknown.  Jeremiah died June 15, 1776.  Nothing further is known at this time.


My maternal 5th-great grandaunt, Lucinda PIERCE, was born on this date in 1769.  Lucinda was the daughter of Seth and Bethiah (FIELD) PIERCE, and the older sister of my Gordon PIERCE.  Lucinda married on November 27, 1788 to Thomas WELCH.  Thomas was born February 17, 1757.  They had 11 children.  Thomas died March 20, 1832.  Lucinda died January 25, 1854 in Enfield, Connecticut.

Family Milestones: November 27th

My paternal great-grandaunt, Beulah Sarah LEMASTERS, married Lynn Lumas ROCKWELL on this date in 1888 in Jay County, Indiana. Beulah was the daughter of Luman Walker and Mary Keziah (CHEW) LEMASTERS, and the older sister of my Luman Cooper LEMASTERS.  Beulah was born September 9, 1866 in Jay County, Indiana.  Lynn was born September 15, 1865 in Pennsylvania. They lived in Noble Township, Jay County, Indiana and had 4 children.  Lynn died December 25, 1949 in Jay County, Indiana and Beulah died July 16, 1940 in Ft. Recovery, Mercer County, Ohio.  Both are buried in the Grand View section of Salamonia Cemetery, Jay County, Indiana.

My maternal 5th-great grandaunt, Lucinda PIERCE, married Thomas WELCH on this date in 1788.  Lucinda was the daughter of Seth and Bethia (FIELD) PIERCE, and the older sister of my Gordon PIERCE. They raised 11 children. Lucinda was born September 14, 1769.  Thomas was born February 17, 1757.  Lucinda died January 25, 1854 in Enfield, Connecticut. Thomas died March 20, 1832. Nothing further is known.

My maternal 4th-great grandaunt, Elizabeth WARDLAW was born on this date in 1818 in Brown County, Ohio.  Elizabeth was the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (NESBIT) WARDLAW, and the younger sister of my Anna WARDLAW.  Elizabeth married John R. BOYD on February 14, 1838 in Brown County, Ohio.  Elizabeth died in Iowa.  Nothing further is known.

My maternal 2nd-great grandaunt, Ethel Mabel BEALS was born on this date in 1885 in Humboldt, Richardson County, Nebraska.  Ethel was the daughter of Nathan Thomas and Elizabeth Caroline (POE) BEALS, and the younger sister of my Pearl May BEALS.  Ethel died February 11, 1900 in Hamilton County, Indiana.
