Today's featured relative in my database is my maternal 12th great-grandmother, Anne Waller.

Anne was born February 8, 1560/61 in Rattlesden, Suffolk, England, the daughter of John and Jane (________) Waller. Anne married July 14, 1590 in Rattlesden to Christopher Strutt, son of Robert and Agnes (________) Strutt. Christopher was born in 1565 in Rattlesden and died February 16, 1626/27 in Rattlesden. Anne died July 22, 1611 in Rattlesden.

Russel J. Hercules Family - 1920 Wayne Co., IN

Today I sourced the census data for the 1920 census of Wayne Co., IN and the Russel J. Hercules family. Russel - I have it with two 'l's' - was married to Bertha Alberta LeMaster on June 10, 1911 in Jay Co., IN; she was my paternal great aunt.

Besides Russell's spelling of his name, there was also the interesting fact that his wife, Bertha Alberta, was listed a Martha in the census. Now it could just be that an error was made, as they did also have a daughter named Martha. This wouldn't have been the first time a census taker made an error. Perhaps she went by Martha, I just don't know. Russell was listed as a woodworker in a furniture factory; along with son Murrel and daughter Martha I. Hercules.

Today's featured relative is my maternal great-grandmother, Edna Muriel Pierce.

Edna was born February 7, 1897 in Madison Co., IN, the daughter of William Francis and Clara (PENNISTEN) PIERCE. Edna married June 19, 1915 in Madison Co., IN to Virgil Lee WRIGHT, son of John William and Ellen (KING) WRIGHT. Virgil was born July 6, 1894 in Madison Co., IN and died March 25, 1972 in Madison Co., IN. Edna died March 3, 1968 in Madison Co., IN. Both are buried in Parkview Cemetery, Alexandria, IN.
