Surname Saturday : West

The WEST surname is in my paternal line.  The origins of the surname appear to be English.


Stories and history:


Ahnentafel # 69 : Mary West (1795-1848).  Mary was born June 17, 1795 in New Jersey.  She married circa 1812 in Gloucester County, New Jersey to Rev. Nathaniel Chew (1786-1866).  Nathaniel was born November 10, 1786 in Gloucester County, New Jersey.  They were the parents of 3 children and lived in Gloucester County, New Jersey.  Nathaniel died January 24, 1866 in Mahasksa County, Iowa.  Mary died February 27, 1848 in New Jersey.


Ahnentafel # 138: Job West (c1771-aft1850).  Job was born circa 1771 in New Jersey.  He married Sarah Jackson (     -bef1850).  They were the parents of at least 3 children.  Sarah was dead before the 1850 census.  Job died sometime after the 1850 census, when he was enumerated in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
