1715 - Esther PIERCE born in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.  Esther was the daughter of Samuel PIERCE and Abigail JOHNSON.


1724 - Benjamin HURLBUT born in Woodbury, Connecticut.  Benjamin was the son of Joseph HURLBUT and Mary CASTLE.


1760 - Oliver BURDICK born in South Kingston, Rhode Island.  Oliver was the son of Oliver BURDICK and Lydia ELDERTON.


1765 - Mary Ann BYERS born in York County, Pennsylvania.  Mary was the daughter of Charles BYERS and Elizabeth ________.


1769 - Thomas FESSENDEN married Elizabeth KENDALL.  Thomas was the son of William FESSENDEN and Martha BROWN.


1776 - Ann ALLEN married Amos COMER. Ann was the daughter of John ALLEN and Phebe SCARLETT.


1781 - Joseph MILLS married Hannah MARIS in North Carolina.  Joseph was the son of John MILLS and Mary BEALS.


1802 - Ruth BOND born in Surry County, North Carolina.  Ruth was the daughter of Samuel BOND and Elizabeth BEALS.


1805 - Eliza PIERCE born.  Eliza was the daughter of Samuel PIERCE and Persis BARROWS.


1813 - Hannah WOOLSTON died in Burlington County, New Jersey.  Hannah was the daughter of Robert HAINES and Rachel VENICOMB.  Hannah was my 5x great-grandmother.


1819 - William WARDLAW died in Brownsburg, Virginia.  William was the son of William WARDLAW and Jane HARPER.


1823 - Jackson Conrad CROCKETT born in Owen County, Indiana.  Jackson was the son of David CROCKETT and Mary Ann NOSLER.


1831 - James H. PEFLEY born in Virginia.  James was the son of Solomon PEFLEY and Frances ROOF.


1833 - David RINEHART married Rebecca ADNEY in Preble County, Ohio.  David was the son of Peter RINEHART and Margaret MINGA.


1837 - Nancy PETRY born in Eldorado, Preble County, Ohio.  Nancy was the daughter of Stephen PETRY.


1845 - Sarah EARLY died.  Sarah was the daughter of Rev. Jesse CHEW and Mary RICHARDS.


1861 - Sarah Mahala CROCKETT born.  Sarah was the daughter of Joseph CROCKETT and Elizabeth JAMES.


1882 - Clara LeMASTERS married Frank Carlos BUTLER in Jasper County, Missouri.  Clara was the daughter of Isaac LEMASTERS and Sarah Ann HESTON.


1895 - James Harvey BRADLEY born.  James was the son of Isaac M. BRADLEY and Manerva Louisa SWAFFORD.


1897 - Edna Muriel PIERCE born in Madison County, Indiana.  Edna was the daughter of William Francis PIERCE and Clara PENISTEN.  Edna was my great-grandmother.


1899 - Rosa Ellen SWAFFORD married Elias Jasper SETTLE in Ray County, Missouri.  Rosa was the daughter of James Calvin SWAFFORD and Louisa Catherine LEE.


1903 - Thomas Harmon SWAFFORD married Emma Jane DIXON.  Thomas was the son of John Marshall SWAFFORD and Mary Elizabeth LEE.


1911 - Mary Wilhelmina MEINHOLTZ born.  Mary was the daughter of Henry MEINHOLTZ and Edith Mabel LeMASTERS.


1916 - Harry H. KIRK married Lucy M. HARDEN in Madison County, Indiana.  Harry was the son of William Frank KIRK and Mary WRIGHT.


2005 - Mary Isabelle HUMMEL died in Union City, Ohio.  Mary was the daughter of Clarence Harrison LeMASTER and Ferry Mae BICKEL.

Brothers, Neighbors and Friends

John Wright household, 1850  U.S. census, population schedule, Washington Township, Brown County, Ohio, USA, dwelling 1555, family 1560; National Archives micropublication M432, roll 662.

The John Wright household was enumerated in Washington Township, Brown County, Ohio in the 1850 census on September 18th.  They were dwelling 1555 and family 1560, nestled in between the families of John Robbins and George Wright.  George Wright was John's father, John Robbins has not yet been identified, but may be John Wright's uncle.  John Wright was my maternal 4x great-grandfather.


In 1850, John Wright was a 35 year old farmer, born in Ohio.  The census lists no real estate, so he may have been renting from his father.  John's wife, Anne, was 34 years old, could not read or write, and was also born in Ohio.  The couple's children were listed as Elizabeth, aged 14 born in Ohio; Joseph, aged 12 born in Ohio; Nancy, aged 9 born in Ohio; Mary, aged 7 born   in Ohio; and Maxamila, aged 4 born in Ohio.  Elizabeth, Joseph and Nancy had all attended school within the year.


Right next door was John's father, George Wright.  In 1850, George Wright was a 69 year old farmer, born in Pennsylvania.  The value of his real estate was listed at $ 2500.  George's wife, Elizabeth, was 68 years old, and was also born in Pennsylvania.  Also in the household was the Samuel P. Wright family - son of George and brother to John, above.  Samuel was a 33 year old farmer, born in Ohio, with real estate valued at $ 20.  Samuel's wife, Rebecca R., was 24 years old and born in Ohio.  The couple's children were listed as Elizabeth S, aged 4 born in Ohio; George H, aged 2 born in Ohio; and John R., aged 8 months born in Ohio.


The makeup of these families was known to me for several years, as I've had them in my database, yet until today I hadn't entered source data from the census and looked at the family dynamics.  By 1853 and 1857, respectively, both George and Anne [or Anna] Wright would have passed away.


Next door to George Wright was the household of John T. Reeves.  In 1850, John T. Reeves was a 38 year old farmer, born in Ohio.  The value of his real estate was listed at $ 800, and he could not read or write.  John's wife, Elizabeth, was 39 years old and was likewise born in Ohio and could not read or write.  The couple's children were listed as Frances, aged 17 born in Ohio; William R., aged 16 born in Ohio; Rebecca, aged 14 born in Ohio; and John R., aged 4 born in Ohio.  A boarder, Daniel Smith, aged 19 born in Ohio and a laborer was also listed in the household.  Finally, Sybil Jacobs, aged 81 born in Virginia was also listed.  Sybil (Littell) Jacobs was my 6x maternal great-grandmother.


The next two families are the Calvin families, which I believe to be related to the Wardlow/Wardlaw families - another line from which I am descended.


It is interesting to see how these families and neighbors were close together.  Though the Wright's and Jacobs lines were not related, a few years later when Joseph Wright [listed in the John Wright household above] married Rebecca Heaton [Sybil Jacobs' great-granddaughter], the two families were connected.  Joseph and Rebecca were my 3x great-grandparents.

1686 - Abigail REED born.  Abigail was the daughter of George REED and Abigail PIERCE.


1688 - Esther STEBBINS born in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.  Esther was the daughter of Benoni STEBBINS and Mary BROUGHTON.


1688 - Joseph STEBBINS born in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.  Joseph was the son of Benoni STEBBINS and Mary BROUGHTON.


1706 - Abigail WITTER married John FREEMAN.  Abigail was the daughter of Josiah WITTER and Sarah CRANDALL.


1751 - Anthony CHAMNESS born in Orange County, North Carolina.  Anthony was the son of Anthony CHAMNESS and Sarah COLE.


1802 - Martha HIGGINS died in Amwell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  Martha was the daughter of Judiah H. HIGGINS and Mary HILL.


1812 - William Earl ANDERSON born in Lewis County, Pennsylvania.  William was the son of Elijah ANDERSON and Susannah WILLIAMS.


1823 - George Washington KING born in Hamilton County, Ohio.  George was the son of William KING and Sarah SULLIVAN.


1826 - Caroline Bishop WOOLSTON born in Vincentown, Burlington County, New Jersey.  Caroline was the daughter of Abel B. WOOLSTON and Rachel WOOLSTON.  Caroline was my 3x great-grandmother.


1827 - Isaac Easterly SWAFFORD born.  Isaac was the son of Thomas SWAFFORD and Nellie HOWARD.


1865 - Mary Leonard CHEW born in New Jersey.  Mary was the daughter of Jesse Leonard CHEW and Susannah Tatem WOOD.


1872 - Martha SWAFFORD married Milton Cicero DAVIS.  Martha was the daughter of Thomas SWAFFORD and Millie HALL.


1896 - Fred DAMM born in Indiana.  Fred was the son of Frederick Henry DAMM and Wilhelmina SCHNEIDER.


1902 - Albert Louis METZNER born in Ft. Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.  Albert was the son of Louis Napoleon METZNER and Elizabeth REITER.


1911 - Oliver SWAFFORD married Cordelia HUMBARD. Oliver was the son of Allen Aaron SWAFFORD and Meda LILES.


1913 - Aaron Elmer BRADLEY married Dora May DENNING.  Aaron was the son of Isaac M. BRADLEY and Manerva Lavonia SWAFFORD.


1930 - Barbara Isabel LeMASTERS died in Union City, Randolph County, Indiana.  Barbara was the daughter of William P. WEHRLY and Olive Jane SMITH.  Barbara was my great-grandmother.


1933 - Amanda M. MILLER died in Washington Township, Brown County, Ohio.  Amanda was the daughter of Edward BRATTON and Elizabeth J. WRIGHT.


1934 - Thaddeus Warsaw MAXON died in Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California.  Thaddeus was the son of William MAXON and Delilah BOWLAND.


2002 - Charles W. IVEY died in Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.  Charles was the son of Samuel H. IVEY and Emma E. CARTER.
